Ok, I did bear club for men (or women) and tried everything. Trappers, blessing, burning arrow. I tried trapping but not enough damage. Blessings lack self-heal and i died, and burning arrow is impossible because when his health drops from his defy pain, it's impossible to quicky switch from your bow to your stupid club to beat that son of a bitch. Therefore if you are a ranger, it's impossible, don't do it, period.

My first char that I took through eotn was a ranger. Use ebon escape to shadow step to one of the norn npc's, and the bear can't touch you. Use ursan blessing after that and he goes down quickly.

tried that, u need to be in touch range for this to work, meaning the bear will attack u freely.

just shadowstep out of the ring and degen him to death (apply poison), swap to the club when he's almost dead. bring some interupts to stop his healing

again, you are NOT quick enough to swap from your bow to club due to degen and his defy pain.

i can't see how that'd be so hard (defy pain doesn't just end randomly, hence it's predictable when you should swap).

you could always just go do a toucher, maybe that works

Its not impossible, I beat it with ranger on my first try. Just because you can't do it doesn't mean you should go around shouting its impossible.

Try the builds above first, and if it doesn't work, come back with a post asking for suggestions. Posting that something is impossible is just dumb.
